Hanover Berkeley – what makes us tick……

When we first started in the human capital business (as it was then known) we operated under the tagline “success through people”. Over the years, those three words have served us well and allowed us to connect incredibly talented people with incredibly successful organisations.

In the early 2000s, as technology allowed greater reach and accessibility, we adopted “it’s who you know” as our trademark in the simple belief that relationships still mattered and a human interface was still essential in any successful talent attraction strategy – even more so when the focus was on leadership talent.  

Post the Global Financial Crisis, with the emergence of social media as the primary communications platform and outsourcing as the preferred recruitment vehicle, we narrowed our focus, underlined our specialisations and ensured it was our network as well as our knowledge that became the compelling factor for why our clients worked with us. No tagline this time – just a simple combination of insight, commitment, understanding and an unwavering belief in our ability to make a difference.

At Hanover Berkeley, our focus remains the Real Estate, Construction & Infrastructure sectors. These sectors contribute significantly to global GDP but remain intrinsically local, extremely cyclical, fundamentally traditional and, all too often, resistant to change. Hanover Berkeley is not an agent of change; we’re not a sector agitator or market disruptor. We are an advisor and, for most of our clients, a trusted partner.

Our aim is simple – understand our client’s business objectives and help them achieve these by securing exceptional new leadership talent where appropriate alongside developing their existing leaders to ensure engagement, effectiveness and retention.  We don’t seek volume, we’re not building scale. We believe in delivering a high touch service underpinned by relationships that last. 

We are expert at what we do and, most importantly, we understand the pressures and vagaries of the sectors we cover. Success through people – absolutely; it’s who you know – most definitely; providing insight and understanding – without a shadow of doubt.
